Our kitchen is small — not much counter space, deep cabinets that swallow things whole — and for a long time I treated that like a personality flaw of the house. It’s not. These are the seven kitchen organization must haves that made our small kitchen actually work, and every one of them earned its spot the same way everything in our home does: it solves a real problem, or it goes.
One rule before you add anything to your cart, though — purge first, organize second. Empty the cabinet, get rid of what you don’t use, and then see what needs organizing. Half the time it’s less than you think. Don’t organize the the cabinet full of expired sauces – purge, purge, purge… then make what you do keep more accessible.
Use the depth you already have
Deep cabinets sound like a blessing until you realize you can only see the front four inches. Everything in this section exists to get you to the back of the cabinet — because you’re already paying for that space, so you might as well use it.
